AGULHAS NATIONAL PARK

The Agulhas National Park, right at the southern-most tip of Africa, boasts an array of splendid views, plants and animals. It's home to the Agulhas Biodiversity Initiative, which addresses threats to fynbos and aims to improve the livelihood of the local communities.
Highlights include the cairn that marks the southern-most tip of Africa, the lighthouse at Cape Agulhas, the graveyard of ships that lie just off the coast, where some 250 ships have been wrecked over time, and whale-watching. The park also has a lot to offer bird enthusiasts. The wetlands ttract a host of water birds, with over 21 000 migrant and resident wetland birds. There are also rumours that the Cape lion and hippo are among the animals to be re-established in the area.

SABI SAND PRIVATE GAME RESERVE – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Situated in the south-west part of the Kruger National Park, Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve offers a rich diversity of animals. You can explore the bush with game drives, bush walks and wilderness trails. There are no restricting fences between the Kruger National Park and the Reserve, so wildlife roams freely – with leopards being the main attraction.
The Kruger National Park, which is larger than Israel, is the land of baobabs, marula and mopane trees and, of course, the Big Five – not to mention more species of mammals than any other African game reserve. The Kruger National Park is a self-drive destination, although there are guided tour operators, with an excellent infrastructure that includes picnic sites, rest camps, waterholes and hides.


GOLDEN GATE HIGHLANDS NATIONAL PARK

Nestled at the foot of the Maluti Mountains, the Golden Gate Highlands National Park is home to a variety of animals. The park's name derives from the radiant shades of gold cast by the sun on the Park's sandstone cliffs. Ribbokkop, the highest point in the Park, is a must-seefor sunset, as shades of red, yellow and purple play against the mountainside.
Activities at Golden Gate include nature trails, game viewing and night game drives. You can also go horse-riding or swimming in the natural pool.
