Neon bright colours, and lots of white and florals were spotted at the Edgars Summer Launch which took place at the Melrose Arch store on Wednesday this week. The store showcased the range at a function attended by fashionistas, designers and representatives from the media industry.
Guests were greeted by mannequins adorning the latest trends which consisted of maxi and mid-calf dresses, statement making blazers, animal and tribal prints and short shorts.
It did not end there, with cropped t-shirts making a comeback for the next season, coloured denims and blouses making their appearance once more.
Shoes remain well heeled with wedges and espadrilles still making an impact. Colour also translated into shoes, with sandals bearing multiple patterns and colours.
It's also clear that plimsoles are not going anywhere.
Material wise, keep stacking chiffon, lace and denim. Jean jackets were paired with floral dresses while crop tops were matched with coloured denims. Make-up trends tend to lean towards a more dewy, golden and fresh look, with a beauty assistant remarking that the natural look reigned supreme.
Accessories in the form of skinny belts, straw hats and scarves were on display. Added to this were the requisite sunnies for added glamour.
Edgars also showcased its designer threads as the store stocks several of SA’s top designers. Guests were treated to dishes including smoked salmon, springbok, chicken kebabs and Turkish delights for dessert. Champagne and wine flowed throughout the event as fashionistas studied the top trends for summer. Guests were spoiled with manicures and makeovers and each received a goodie bag containing exclusive make up and nail varnish brands, Phillip Kingsley, Perricone MD and Trind.
The summer range will be available in Edgars stores this spring. Check out some styles to look out for in our fashion slide show here.
