Vintage hairstyles have made a huge comeback and have been spotted at many international spring 2012 fashion shows, such as Jean Paul Gaultier (see the image to the the left), Zac Posen, Prada and Sonia Rykiel. These vintage do's remind us of timeless elegance and femininity.
VO5 Lead Stylist Luna says that you can experiment with vintage styles and match your outfit with a retro hairstyle such as elegant victory rolls. She explains how to create an easy version of this hot '40s look:
Step 1: Prep hair
Start by applying VO5 Weightless Volume Control Mousse (R40) to damp hair. Next, divide the hair into two sections from the crown to the nape.
Step 2: Curl it
Take one section of hair and curl it towards the back of your head, using a curling iron. If you have thin hair, tease your hair after curling. Repeat this process with the other sections of hair.
Step 3: Pin it
Take one section of hair and curl it up by wrapping the end around two fingers to create a loop. Slip out your fingers, tuck and pin with bobby pins. Set the hair by spritzing on VO5 Weather Resistant Extra Hold Finish Hairspray (R40). Repeat this process with the other sections of hair – and voila! You've got your '40s glam on.
