South African-born Tarina Patel has graced screens all over the world, starring in Bollywood blockbusters such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Just Married and in an American film titled One Night With The King. She is definitely no stranger to the camera.
Having worked with some of the world’s best directors, Patel has decided to come home. She will join the cast of SABC1’s Generations: The Legacy as Karishma Sharma, and will debut on the soapie on Wednesday, 4 March.
Patel plays the trophy wife of a failed businessman whose dealings have lead to his incarceration and financial ruin. Patel’s character finds herself in strange situations with the soapie’s most dangerous characters while trying to get back what her husband has lost.
“I am very excited to join the cast of Generations: The Legacy. My aim has always been to defy stereotypes by avoiding the role of the pretty girl and sinking my teeth into more substantial roles. My character gives me the opportunity to do exactly that, and I trust that the audience will enjoy her just as much as I do,” Patel said in a statement.
