Rapper Hip Hop Pantsula played host for SA music’s biggest night. While many had great expectations for the much-loved Motswako rapper, on the night he fell short.

From punch lines that flew over the audience’s head, to acoustic renditions of 2014’s hit singles, the rapper hit more flat notes than he did high – and social media users were quick to point out his flaws.

As tweets about his dismal hosting skills flooded in, instead of fighting back he decided to take the high road.

He acknowledged his lukewarm performance and apologised, thanking his ‘haters’ and supporters for tuning into the show – while also poking fun at some of the tweets.
