[FEATURED] For Mercedes-Benz, 2016 is the year of roadsters and cabriolets

Remember when the world still left you in awe, when every moment was thrilling and exciting, and your curiosity was rewarded? Rediscover that joy and fascination in the new C-Class Cabriolet, a new journey that brings you endless days of top-down driving. There are more ways to get back to freedom, with the Mercedes-Benz collection of sleek roadsters and cabriolets. From the new S-Class Cabriolet, the SL and the iconic SLC (previously the SLK), they are all refined, all luxurious and all extraordinary. Whichever one you fancy, rest assured, every roadster and cabriolet promises to turn heads when the top’s down.

Unleash your senses: the new C-Class Cabriolet

Based on the popular C-Class, the new C-Class Cabriolet’s design embodies modern luxury with a youthful touch. Featuring plenty of high-quality details, its distinctive character is most apparent when the top is down. The cabriolet is also available with the AirCap automatic draught stop system and AirScarf neck-level heating for exceptional comfort during open-top driving. Sporty and youthful in character and styling, the C-Class Cabriolet offers unadulterated open-air driving pleasure all year round.

The C‑Class Cabriolet is also a consistent embodiment of the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy: sensual purity as the definition of contemporary luxury. It exhibits an independence of character with a visibly sporty expression and youthfully fresh appeal.

The touch of excellent refinement – the new S-Class Cabriolet

After 45 years, Mercedes-Benz is once again offering an open-top variant of the S-Class.
The new S-Class Cabriolet symbolises the brand’s passion for individual and timelessly exclusive mobility. Mercedes-Benz lays claim to building the world’s most comfortable convertible. When it comes to climate comfort, features such as the enhanced automatic wind protection system AirCap, the AirScarf neck-level heating system, the heated armrests, seat heating in the rear, plus the intelligent climate control ensure that this is the case.

Attention to detail is also evident in the luggage compartment concept. When the soft top is opened, it folds away into a section of the luggage compartment, separated from the remaining luggage compartment space by an electrically operated retractable cover, which encloses the soft top. This partition extends automatically when opening the soft top, which means that the driver doesn’t need to stop to operate the luggage compartment cover manually, providing for added convenience.

Additional benefits include standard-specification electro-hydraulic remote closing for the boot lid and a through-loading facility into the interior. The S-Class Cabriolet embodies modern luxury in a very special way and is an expression of both effortless superiority and progressivity.

The striking sight of an icon – the SL Roadster

The iconic SL roadster has a new appearance with a host of significantly enhanced technical and visual features. More powerful engines, the automatic transmission 9G-tronic, Dynamic Select with five transmission modes and Active Body Control with the curve-tilting function take the legend to a new level. The high suitability for everyday driving is even more comfortable with the vario-roof, which can now be operated at up to 40km/h, and the automatic boot separator. Visually, the front end is significantly sportier than its predecessor. As a result, the bonnet, bumper and headlamps are all new.

The Mercedes-Benz SL is a top performer in a wide variety of disciplines: an elegant roadster for relaxed, comfortable cruising or a dynamic coupé for sporty trips on winding roads. The SL is an all-season vehicle that’s fully suited for daily use, but is also a dream car for those special moments.

A particularly eye-catching feature of the new SL is the revised front end: the standard, unique diamond radiator grille extends downwards. Two powerdomes accentuate the long, drawn-out bonnet. Also adding to the new appearance of the SL is the standard-fit LED Intelligent Light System with headlamp housing extending far to the outside. The sporty silhouette is emphasised by the enlarged cosmetic air outlets with wing-like chrome inserts in the dynamic, broad-vehicle wings and the exterior mirrors positioned on the beltline.

The sound of sportive power – the SLC Roadster

The new Mercedes-Benz SLC has an impressive heritage to live up to. Its predecessor, the SLK, won fans around the world and achieved phenomenal sales. Comprehensively refined and with a model line-up ranging from the SLC 200 and SLC 300 to the sporty, high-performance Mercedes-AMG SLC 43, the new model builds on that success. The SLC 200, SLC 300 and AMG SLC 43 feature the sport/comfort-oriented 9G-tronic automatic transmission as standard.

As part of the facelift, the Mercedes-Benz designers have further honed the roadster’s sporty look. The new front section, where the steeply raked radiator grille elongates the appearance of the arrow-shaped bonnet, is particularly striking. All SLC models feature a diamond radiator grille as standard.
