A month ago, Vuzu announced that popular lifestyle show V-Entertainment would be going on a break. For a long time, the speculation was that the show was put on hold because of financial constraints and poor viewership, but the channel denied this.

Now, the revamped V-Entertainment is back. On air on Friday, 4 August, it will now be hosted by Somizi Mhlongo, Nomuzi Mabena and Scoop Makhathini.

The show will also only air on Fridays, as opposed to every day of the week.

“We’ve revamped V-Entertainment to bring the viewers the best dose of entertainment news in a more current version of the popular format,” Reneilwe Sema, M-Net’s Director of Local Entertainment, said in a statement.

The previous hosts of the show, including DJ Speedsta, Dash, Lalla Hiramaya and Shane Eagle, have all been let go and do not feature in the revamped version of the show.

Mabena, who has been a host on V-Entertainment before, said that she was excited to be returning to the show.

“It feels really great to be returning to V-Entertainment, especially with the new format. I’ve been a fan since its inception and I’m just really proud to be one of the voices that’s redefined South African entertainment culture,” Mabena said in interview with TshisaLive.
