What motivates you to get out there and make things happen?
I love luxury. I always have, so I think it just comes naturally for me that I would want to go and do what I am passionate about – what I’ve been called on to do. It’s easy, really.  I don’t ever struggle to get out of bed to go to work. It’s crazy, because I think I have finally found my space, where I belong. I think everyone spends life searching for that one “work” thing that leads to fulfilment and I have found mine.

You have a family. How do you manage to balance your busy work schedule and home life?
“Balance” is a very interesting word. I think that it is all about prioritising what is important. My family is very important to me, so on most occasions, I would choose them first, which is really hard, because I really love what I do. I know that on any given day, I have to compromise something. The question I ask myself is: “Who or what is going to be compromised today?” I cannot do it all and I have sort of forgiven myself for that. I just make it clear in terms of who or what takes priority.

I take each day as it comes and prioritise. If I am doing an event late at night then I know that I am not tucking in my children, but they are also aware that down the line, the balance swings the other way.

I also don’t mess with my weekends. As much as I love my work, my weekends are for me and my children. I will hardly ever do anything on a weekend that relates to work, unless it is something like polo, which happens only on Sundays. This type of thing I personally want to do because it brings me some level of fulfilment. As for the rest I would rather have all my events, activations and engagements happen during the week.

If you had to give your 18-year-old self three tips for business success, what would they be?
1. You are more than enough. You actually don’t need to have anything more than what you have right now.
2. Whatever it is you are thinking about doing right now, do it!
3. There are no mistakes in life. Life is a journey and you are meant to live it to the fullest. So, it actually doesn’t matter what you decide to do, it is all part of the journey God has laid out for you. You are good and you’re safe in your decisions. It’s all part of a learning journey. You should enjoy it and never doubt yourself.
