Phumzile Sitole – making more #BlackGirlMagic come to our TV screens

Phumzile Sitole is flying the SA flag high in Hollywood. You can catch her in the latest season of hit Netflix series Orange is the New Black (OITNB)

Sitole joins a growing list of local acting talent making waves internationally.

She recently made her debut appearance on OITNB, where she plays the character of Antoinetta Kerson, aka Akers, a new inmate at the women’s prison. This follows a recurring role in The Good Wife spin-off series The Good Fight.

Before jetting off to the US to pursue her Master’s degree in Theatre Acting at New York’s prestigious ivy league, Columbia University, Sitole cut her teeth in local productions including Rights of Passage. 

Her talent is undeniable and her star will surely soar to greater heights.
