African Fashion International announces it will offer a fashion business seminar during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town as part of the Fastrack fashion design development programme.
Calling all aspiring and upcoming fashion designers! AFI Fastrack is holding a business seminar during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Cape Town (25-28 July) as part of its aim to develop young South African design talent.
The AFI Fastrack Business Seminar, which will focus on fashion business and industry development, features presentations from local and international speakers, including the world leaders in trend forecasting, Worth Global Style Network (WGSN). WGSN will focus on the macro trends set to drive fashion in upcoming seasons and on educating young designers, buyers, retailers and stylists on current looks.
International Trade and Business Development Professional and Fashion Business Adviser, Charlotte Ashamu will impart her business development knowledge on enterprise development, planning and infrastructure required for successful design entrepreneurship.
Marseillaise designer Fred Sathal will share her philosophy, inspiration and approach to design. Sathal is well known for playing with graphics, design and contemporary arts in her work as a designer. Sathal will also lead the AFI Fastrack Masterclass on 25 July for both the 2010 and 2011 AFI Fastrack winners and finalists.
The business seminar culminates with the AFI Fastrack Interactive, an exclusive panel discussion with South African industry leaders Kluk CGDT, David Tlale and Fred Sathal.
