Africa International Hair Extravaganza launches in SA

Taking place at The Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg, the Africa International Hair Extravaganza offers visitors a colourful display of Africa’s hair industry.

The first ever Africa International Hair Extravaganza is coming to South Africa and is set to feature the latest hair trends, styles and products. The extravaganza will culminate in an awards ceremony which will be judged by top local hair experts.

Taking place at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg on 11 and 12 August, the extravaganza, which is currently the only one of its kind, will be hosted by Rudisha Consulting Grouphas.

Managing director of Rudisha, Fatima Cele said the group had seen a gap in the market and seized it. “The show will see the positioning and the role Africa’s hair industry plays in the continent’s economy but also provide a platform where consumers from across Africa will experience the amazing world of African hair from trends to style to talent while getting great bargains. The show aims at showcasing the true inspiration behind and innovation within Africa’s hair industry.

The extravaganza will focus not only on hair such as hair extensions and weaves but all types of ethnic hair including dreadlocks, hair care products, styling and maintenance. Consumers and the industry will experience the first African Hair Awards and Africa’s first hair ‘battles’.

The show is aimed at defining the beauty of African hair in all forms, accommodating patrons from all backgrounds. The show aims at bringing together a lucrative industry under one roof for easy accessibility to an entire continent.

The Africa International Hair Extravaganza will be represented by ambassadors from several countries. Representing South Africa is TV presenter, businesswoman, image and etiquette coach Doris Msibi, radio personality and actress Eda Rose from Angola, actress and model Weza Solange from Nigeria, actress and model Kendra Oluchi Etufunwa and from Zambia, model Petita Mwanza.
