Get your hair cut and styled for a worthy cause by supporting this great initiative.
On Friday, 6 July you can get your hair cut and styled by a professional L'Oreal hairstylist at a huge discounted rate (between R150 - R250) – not bad, hey! They will be offering these services at Johannesburg's Forest Town School from 9am - 1pm as part of the L'Oreal Citizen Day 2012 initiative.
Forest Town School for children with special needs provides modified mainstream eduction, adapted skills training and support to pupils between the ages of three and 18. One of the programmes the school offers is Wep@Work (Work Experience Programme), which supports the employment of pupils. The children acquire certain skills in the school's hair and beauty salon, coffee and craft shop, bakery, car wash and IT shop. This not only benefits the children, but also raises much-needed funds for the school.
Bertrand de Laleu, Managing Director of L'Oreal South Africa, says, “It is a great honour for L’Oréal South Africa to support an institution like Forest Town School. Not only does this school provide a safe haven for learners with special needs but it also gives them an opportunity to contribute to society by equipping them with invaluable skills that they can use to better themselves. It is for this reason that we are so thrilled and proud to be partnering with the school. Our objective is to create awareness about the school and its services in the hope that the community will continue to support it.”
The L'Oreal staff will also be helping out at the coffee and craft shop, and bakery for the day. We think this makes for a great morning out and best of all, it is for a good cause!
