Grammy award board fires producer accused of accepting bribe from Chris Brown.
Chris Brown has a bevy of accolades to his name, ranging from BET honours to Billboard music awards.
However, the 23-year old R&B muso has been accused of bribing a Grammy official to win the coveted Best R&B Album award at the recent awards ceremony, which took place in February this year.
Gossip website TaleTela.com reports that Brown's team sent numerous emails to Ken Ehrlich, an ex-producer of the Grammy's. Brown’s representatives are said to have begged Ehrlich to award Brown in exchange for a substantial amount of money.
According to Inquisitr.com, Elrich was axed from his post and a statement was released by Neil Portnow, President of The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. It reads:
"With almost ten years of being President for The Academy, I would have never predicted that this would happen. My lack of blessing for Chris’ nomination was known, but as I’ve always respected my colleagues’ insights, I mustered all I could not to fight it so much. I have worked alongside Ken for years now, and I am heavily disappointed, and will have to raise the conduct around this board. I will see to it that nothing of this caliber of humiliation will happen again."
Brown’s PR representative has denied the accusation, calling it “bogus”.
