Looking for a make-up look to rock this weekend? Make a statement with bright coloured eyes.
We spotted this rocking look at the Prabal Gurung Autumn Winter 2012 fashion show during New York Fashion Week. Not only is it on trend, but it's also great fun to wear if you're going out tonight. The focus is on the eyes and the rest is kept natural. Follow our tips to create this colourful eyeshadow look.
You'll need the following for the eyeshadow application:
- Beige shimmer highlighter shadow
- Blue-teal eyeshadow
- Charcoal eyeshadow
- Black kohl eye pencil
- Black mascara
- Small eyeshadow brush
- Medium eyeshadow brush
- Large eyeshadow brush
Step 1: Apply highlight
Once you've applied your foundation, concealer and powder, you're ready to start applying the eyeshadow. Apply a light beige or champaign shimmer highlighter over the entire eye space, from your eyelid to under the eyebrow, using a large eyeshadow brush. This will lighten the eye area and make the eyes appear larger.
Step 2: Apply blue-teal shade
Dip your medium eyeshadow brush in the blue-teal eyeshadow and apply it over the entire eyelid area, blending it up into the crease of the eye. It's important to blend the colour well, since solid lines will look too harsh. Also apply a small amount of blue-teal eyeshadow under the eye to create a smoky effect.
Step 3: Apply charcoal shade
Apply the charcoal shade in the outside corner of the eyes to create more definition, using a small brush. Ensure you blend this colour well with the blue-teal shadow. Also apply the charcoal shade beneath the eyes to create a framing effect. Next, apply black kohl liner in the rim of the eyes and finish the look off with two layers of black mascara.
