Actress has embraced celibacy.
Meagan Good has reaffirmed her vow to remain celibate until she marries her film executive beau in a few months. The actress and singer says she is adamant that she won't give in to any sexual desires until she and her hubby-to-be, DeVon Franklin, tied the knot.
Good stars in the blockbuster movie Think like a Man, which is currently on circuit. She has previously starred in Jump the Broom and You got Served, among others. Good is also part of a singing group.
Speaking to gossip site Global Grind earlier this year, Good said her decision to remain celibate owed to an experience she had a few years ago. She was heartbroken after coming out of a relationship and later turned to God to overcome her pain.
"I was crying so much at the time that God told me exactly what it was going to be and he told me that the next relationship that I got into was going to be the relationship. God told me specifically what the criteria was with the man I was going to marry and he told me to not settle," Good said.
"So I would meet guys who are Christians or loved the Lord, but they weren't trying with all their heart to walk with Him. And I wouldn't feel in myself that that was the guy, so even if I liked him or was attracted to him I would say, OK I'm not going to settle."
Franklin is an Executive Producer at Sony Pictures Entertainment and a Seventh-Day Adventist minister. According to TMZ, he popped the question to Good last March in Los Angeles.
The couple met on the set of the movie Jumping the Broom, where Good had a role and Franklin was part of the production cast. On how she realised Frankin was the man for her, Good said she gave a testimonial at his church.
“I came and did this thing in his church where I talked about my testimony. I already told my godsister in the car on the way over there, 'Oh, he’s my husband, I know that.' And we didn’t start dating until three months after that.” Good has also revealed that she and Franklin had decided on a venue. She told Life & Style magazine that their wedding will take place in Malibu.
However, the couple have not revealed when their wedding will take place. The wedding ceremony is expected to be filled with A-list Hollywood stars such as Terrence J, Kevin Hart and Lala Vasquez, who were at her 30th birthday bash recently.
