From landing a royal commission to winning Designer of the Year at the 2011 British Fashion Awards, we take a look at designer Sarah Burton's year in pictures.

Since taking over the reigns at Alexander McQueen in May 2010, Sarah Burton has gone from strength to strength. Along with her impressive Autumn/Winter 2011/2012 and Spring/Summer 2012 shows, she was asked to design Kate Middleton's wedding dress and was voted British Designer of the Year at the British Fashion Awards, held on 28 November 2011 at London's Savoy Hotel.
