Shoes are going on a colour and print trip this coming summer.
DestinyConnect had a shoegasm at the recent launch of footwear label Plum's summer 2012 range, as we found ourselves surrounded by heels from colour-block platforms to super-stacked wedges that had our feet tingling with excitement.
Jason Craft, National Sales Manager for footwear distributor Global Warming, says the latest trends for the coming season "are still very much your high heels and wedges but with new interesting material and prints such as zebra and Aztec prints". Heels are also thicker and more substantial – think 60s mod. The pointy-toe shoe is making a strong comeback while the questionable banana shape heel is also showing up for the party.
Expect to see an entire spectrum of colours this summer in brights, pastels and neons. "In terms of fabrics for the summer season your patent and microfibre are all the rage," says Craft.
Check out our shoegasm slideshow, as well as a behind-the-scenes video of Plum's summer campaign for more inspiration.
The Plum summer range will be available in stores from July to November.
