Celebrities and wine connoisseurs were invited to experience 22 of the most exclusive wines from around the world at the World of First Growths wine tastings.
The World of First Growths, a private members’ club that conducts unique tastings worldwide, recently held two by-invitation-only wine-tasting events in SA. The series of world-wide events had a great start at the Saxon Hotel in Johannesburg and continued to the Presidential Suite of The Taj Hotel in Cape Town.
The Dining Library at the Saxon presented an extraordinary French cuisine menu to complement the rarities of wines carefully selected from France, Italy, Spain, Australia, the USA and SA. All are considered to be legendary, rare and first-growths. First-growth refers to the Bordeaux Classification of 1855, when wine brokers ranked châteaus based on reputation and price.
The tasting was produced by Parmigiani Fleurier and TWC, a non-profit private members' club, which conducts tastings world-wide and only with the greatest wines available.
