It's not surprising that the world's most expensive restaurant is in the most expensive city. Made famous as the first steak-house in Tokyo, Aragawa offers a range of tantalising Sumiyaki-style fillet and rump steaks. Adorned with dark wooden walls and chandeliers, this classy steak joint does not have paper serviettes!

Alain Ducasse au Plaza Athénée, Paris, France
If French food strikes your fancy then world-class chef Alain Ducasse will tickle your taste buds. Situated at the Paris Plaza Athénée hotel, the restaurant offers a wide range of dishes including pigeon, lobster, crayfish and fresh sea bass.

Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, London, England
There is no surprise that Gordon Ramsey makes the cut. Also specialising in French cuisine, this eatery offers a seven course meal fit for a king! Book in advance, as there is always a waiting list, but the "Menu Prestige" consisting of langoustine ravioli and elderflower soup will be worth the wait.
