Welcome to Joziwood
Joburg is where it’s at!

We often look to Hollywood for the “buzz” on what’s happening in the entertainment world – most of our fashions and trends are inspired by Lindsay Lohan, Beyoncé and J-Lo. But why are we casting our nets so far to find the hippest, hottest news? Welcome to Joziwood – where dreams are made possible! Johannesburg is the hub of Africa – alive and rich with history, tradition, colour and opportunity. We have learnt the fundamental lessons from others that we needed to develop this entertaining nation and now we’re running up front. Johannesburg is the breeding ground for the best. We aren’t behind trends – we’re setting them, so that Africa can find its footing and stand its ground on a world stage. It’s our duty to support our country: subscribe to our magazines, read our books, watch our programs and listen to our music. Need an entertainment fix? There’s a new breed of SA socialites that would even give Paris Hilton a run for her (daddy’s) money: Khanyi Mbau, Kuli Roberts and Uyanda Mbuli have set new heights for the word “diva”! Musicians like Jozi and Jesse Clegg have performed all over. Who are we to be anything but impressed? The list of talents is endless and, what’s best, we are growing, so the sky truly is the limit. But don’t ditch Americanisation – they’ve taught us a lot of what we know. Just start at home when you’re dishing out the accolades. Welcome to Joziwood! Embrace it!

# re: Welcome to Joziwood Good, very good i agree with you 99%, however there is a however, and that is Gollywood instead of Joziwood. We must construct words that are easily repeatable, recallable (marketing principles) and will go into the international market with ease. The international market should find it easy to pronounce making it easy to recall and spread through word of mouth. Besides lets show off the gold that Johannesburg was built upon. Well it remains my opnion, either way lets embrace our identity.

# re: Welcome to Joziwood You are so on point Gugu, american market their country, why can't we do the same...famous designers are not all from US infact their fashion and style is born in the streets on Milan Paris to name oneand take that back to their country, While We have our own talented Khensani Nkosi's , the uyanda Mbulis' and other unfortunate best designers who hardly get chances to show case their clothes.

SA , Joburg, CT, EC ,,lets just realise that We are blessed beyond measure and need to embrace that.
