At a gala event held at American Swiss's flagship Menlyn Shopping Centre store in Pretoria, singing sensation Louise Carver wowed the guests and the jewellery chain, in conjunction with the Jewellery Council of South Africa, Roland Africa and Harmony, gave something back with donations to charity, a jewellery design bursary fund and prizes to talented up-and-coming jewellers.

The very first African Women Chartered Accountants (AWCA) Power Tea for 2010 was held in February at the stylish Signature Restaurant in Morningside, Johannesburg. Power Teas are held for the purpose of providing AWCA members with access to mentors and industry leaders, to create a platform for effective networking with other AWCA members, and to learn and be inspired by role models and each other. The theme on this occasion was "Inspiration". The welcome address was given by AWCA President, Tryphosa Ramano and the guest speaker was Monhla Hlahla, MD of the Airports Company South Africa.
