We are all focused on the treatments and care we give to our faces and we tend to forget about the part of our body we use the most, the part of our body that needs the most care to keep them looking well looked after: our hands. We use our hands continuously on a daily basis and this can lead to dry, damaged hands and cracked, broken nails which, if we’re honest with ourselves, look anything but pretty. Follow these easy tips to put your best hand forward, as your hands create an impression, like when you shake someone’s hand for the first time.

Tip 1: Exfoliate your hands daily
This will ensure that you get rid of any dead or dry skin that will make your hands look and feel rough. Try using a gentle exfoliator in the mornings and evenings. An exfoliator that is too rough for your face, will also be too rough on your hands.

Tip 2: Moisturise as often as you can
Once you have exfoliated your hands, it is critical to moisturise them properly. Because your hands do the majority of the activity on a day to day basis, you need to ensure that they are kept moisturised so they always look and feel soft and smooth. Keep a hand cream in your handbag and use it as often as possible.

Tip 3: Use sun cream
This is one of the most important tips to keep your hands looking pretty at all times. Your hands have a very thin layer of skin on them that can easily be damaged by the sun’s rays. A good sun cream needs to be applied to your hands daily. Sun damage on your hands can lead to sun spots and blemishes that cause permanent damage.

Tip 4: Look after your nails
Invest in a good nail kit that you can use to keep your nails trimmed, filed and clean. A manicure every now and again will make a huge difference to the strength and appearance of your nails. Make sure that you do not always have a dark colour polish on your nails, as this will make them go yellow.
