Add some contemporary grunge

The polo neck jersey is often associated with sophistication and clean preppy style, but this doesn’t mean you can’t give yours a more edgy, ‘bad-boy’ feel. Do this easily by throwing a great leather jacket over your polo neck, adding a pair of black straight-cut or skinny jeans and a pair of casual boots.

Play around with colour

While many of us stick to greys and blacks in winter, a great way to stand out is to throw in a pop of colour now and then, and a polo neck is a great way to do this. The trick is to keep all your other colours neutral and muted so that your polo neck makes the boldest statement of all.

Try a neutral-coloured blazer over a red, blue or yellow polo neck jersey, a pair of chinos or jeans, and a classy pair of brogues.

Swap things around

If you want a perfectly respectable semi-formal look, but don’t want to spend your day choking on a tie and a shirt, opt for a polo neck jersey instead. Wear your well-fitted suit with a polo neck, and you’ll elevate your look to a new level of sophistication and style.

Keep it simple

Wear your polo neck jersey with straight-cut trousers or skinny jeans and sneakers for an effortless, casual look that speaks volumes about your good taste.
