We’ve been to a number of places to have our nails done, but intimate The Loft Nail Bar in Dainfern tops our list for giving us the best experience money can buy.

We were welcomed by the very bubbly owner Sibusiswe Ngeleka and her vibrant team. As our pedicures began, we each got a glass of champagne, the order of the day for all clients. The chairs give a relaxing massage, and if you’re lucky you might also score a hand massage.

What I loved was that my technician gave me her undivided attention. I think this is one of the benefits of visiting a smaller, more intimate nail bar – you’re not rushed. There is a beautiful variety of nail colours to choose from, and the girls and I opted for something seasonally trendy.

The pricing is very reasonable, and I found myself thinking that the next time my mom is in town, this is where I’ll take her for a treat and a little pampering.

It’s refreshing to get the full experience. The ambiance is calming, and you receive a very personal touch with your treatment.

Sibusiswe is very hands-on and involved, and understands how treatments should be done. At one point, she stepped in and gave Nomfundo (our DESTINY Lifestyle Assistant) a hand massage after she’d had her nails painted. Sibusiswe is building and maintaining a solid relationship with her clientele, which I’m sure will keep them coming back for more.

Our highlights:

Nomfundo: I left the place feeling awesome with pretty nails!

Buhle: After a long week of chasing deadlines the back massage has to be my ultimate favourite! I even fell asleep in the car after.

Bongo: It was a much-needed time-out, and I will be returning again alone. It’s like a small retreat.
