ANC MP Dr Makhosi Khoza has asked for more security, as she fears that her life and her children’s lives are be under threat. The MP, who has been critical of the ANC leadership and the party that she serves, has had to ask for extra protection after the ANC Youth League in KwaZulu-Natal posted her home address on Facebook.
“I have no security at all and I’ve written to the Chief Whip. I am really worried about my children. I fear for my children’s safety. I am in Cape Town and maybe my safety is better than that of my children. I hope the Chief Whip will discuss this with the Speaker of Parliament, as discussed with me,” she told Radio 702 on Monday morning.
Khoza believes that she has been targeted by the league for voicing her opinions about the ANC leadership, in particular President Jacob Zuma.
In a Facebook post this month, Khoza said that while she would always vote for the ANC, she would, however, not vote for an immoral leader.
“My political moral conscience signature is the ANC Constitution, notably Rule 4.17. Please read it. I, therefore, cannot be expected to vote for an amoral leader whose behavioural practices liquidates the ANC at a speed faster than a spacecraft.”
While the league in KwaZulu-Natal wants Khoza to go, other provinces do not support the call.
