Wayde van Niekerk – Audi
Van Niekerk, South Africa’s very own Usain Bolt, became an ambassador after his record-breaking400 win at the Rio Olympics last year. The athlete was pleasantly surprised when Audi presented him with a new R8 upon his return to South Africa from Brazil.
Nomzamo Mbatha – Audi
Actress and MC Mbatha was announced as an Audi ambassador in November last year
“Been biting my tongue about this since July! Proud to say #IAmVorsprung official #AudiSAAmbassador,” Mbatha wrote in a caption for a video she posted on Instagram.
Tendai “Beast” Mtawarira – Ford
Mtawarira, the Zimbabwean-born Springbok prop, was announced as an ambassador for Ford in December last year for a six-month term.
He was temporarily gifted with the iconic Ford Mustang 2,3 EcoBoost FastBack with a Roush Performance Level 2 upgrade.
“Beast is recognised as one of the world’s best rugby props and it’s an honour to have him representing Ford and the iconic Mustang and we look forward to our proud association over the coming months,” Tracey Delate, Ford South Africa’s GM of Marketing, said in a statement.
Nasty C – Mercedes-Benz
If you spend a lot of time scrolling down your Instagram timeline, chances are that you will have seen numerous sponsored posts of Nasty C and Mercedes-Benz. The Hell Naw rapper partnered with the brand earlier this year for its #GrowUpYourOwnWay campaign.
Mi Casa – Mercedes-Benz
In October 2016, one of the South Africa’s most loved bands Mi Casa, were announced as “official friends of the brand” by Mercedes-Benz. As part of this “friendship”, the band was given a brand new G-Class.
