Step 1: Flawless skin

When going for a barely there make-up look like Thusi’s, start off by applying liquid foundation around the T-zone. “Liquid foundation is the best when creating a minimalist look – it gives the skin a full, soft coverage with a glow,” Mashishi says.

Follow this by applying Miss Salon London Minerals Makeup all over the face for more coverage and a luminous, flawless face.

Mashishi used Black Up CC Cream cream (instead of foundation) for the actress’ look because it offers light coverage and isn’t overbearing.

Step 2: Subtle eyes

He says he used two eyeshadows to contour her eyes. “I mixed a matte and metallic eyeshadow to create the perfect eye,” he says. To contour the eye, Mashishi suggest you “work the other way around and start on the outer corner of the eye”.

After applying the eyeshadow, line the upper lash line with a waterproof liquid liner.

Finally, apply lash extensions, then complete your eye makeup by applying several coats of mascara. Mashishi says he loves Rimmel’s Volume Colourist mascara.

Step 3: Contoured cheeks and nose

When contouring the cheeks and nose, he recommends you should go as light as possible to create the illusion of a flawless bone structure.

“Use a bronzer to highlight the cheeks and nose. The bronzer is used to create the illusion of where sun hits your face,” he says.

Step 4: Nude lip

A nude lip goes with any look and remains a classic. Getting the perfect nude shade for your skin tone isn’t always easy, but Mashishi says when choosing a nude lipstick, go for a shade that’s closest to your skin tone.
