In an official statement shared on Twitter on Monday, Kensington Palace announced that the royal couple are overjoyed by the support and well wishes they have received since announcing their engagement.

The statement adds that the couple ask that “anyone who might wish to mark the occasion of their wedding considers giving to charity, instead of sending a gift”.
