Founded by Zonke Zama Ndaba, Ziyanda Appliances aims to be the world’s first African premium kitchen appliance brand.

Following uncertainty about ownership of the company, Ndaba released a statement sharing the story of the business. “I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude towards everyone who has praised the products of Ziyanda Appliances. I really appreciate the support as a young black man in South Africa trying to preserve the African culture. Ziyanda Appliances was born out of the need to add to many brands that showcase the fact that South Africans can also create beautiful high end luxury products.” With items ranging in price from a kettle at R5000 and a toaster retailing for R6500, Twitter seemed to love the beauty but felt the prices were too high.
