SA Fashion Week has come and gone, but we’re still talking about some of the beauty we saw hit the runway. We give you our favourites.
While 2019’s A/W runway fashion looks were the main attraction this past fashion week, some of the runway’s best beauty looks couldn’t help but steal the show. We take a look at SAFW’s best beauty moments.
Amanda Laird Cherry
Influenced by the ocean clay Xhosa women apply to their faces, ALC Women’s beauty look was an ode to beauty rituals with a modern spin. White lashes and strokes of white paint over the brows beautifully contrasted with the dark tones ALC used for her designs.
Sober Design House
Sober brought the ’80s bright blue eye and just-bitten tinted red lip look to the catwalk for its runway show, proving the look works on all skintones and is a winner off the runway.

Black Coffee brought edgy afro-futuristic red eyeshadow to its models’ faces as they exhibited its collection.
International designers who form part of the Brics Fashion Forum also showcased at SAFW and one of the standout beauty looks on the runway was from Brazilian designer Helen Rödel, who paired bright cherry lips with a golden eye and blushing skin for her models.
