This global phenomenon is set to take place on 1 November at the Werehouse in Durban, where the finalists will be tasked with proving their skill and versatility. The winners of each National Final will then later represent their country at the World Finals in Tapei, Taiwan, on January 2019.
The finalists who will be going head to head in this year’s National Finals are Gremlin and DJ Willy from Cape Town, DJ Soosh and DJ Shameless from Johannesburg and Durbanites Ameeth Shah and DJ Eighty 6.
Prior to the final, a workshop with German DJ Eskei83 will take place at Khaya Records on 31 October. The participants will be judged by Ryan the DJ, who won the South African title last year and competed in Poland at the world final this year, making it to the top 6, alongside Eskei83, who won the world final in 2014 and DJ Hedspin from Vancouver, Canada, who won in 2011.
To keep you entertained throughout the night, there will be a variety of performances and acts. The line-up consists of Captain Cleo, Ryan the DJ, DJ Hedspin, Aewon Wolf and Eskie83. In the true Red Bull Music 3Style style, each DJ will have to incorporate three different genres of music in their 15-minute sets, which will be judged on originality, skill, track selection and overall crowd reaction.

Red Bull Music 3Style is a global platform that has been advancing and celebrating the culture of DJing since 2010. The competition rules are simple: each DJ gets 15 minutes to #PlayWithMusic and must showcase at least three different music genres. They must prove their ability to get a party jumping while impressing the panel of legendary judges with their skills if they want to become champion.
