Vanessa Thurlwell is currently a Senior Risk Consultant at Mondial Business and Risk Consultants and a director of Mondial Knowledge Solutions and more recently was awarded the CRM Professional designation through IRMSA. Vanessa’s experience lies in risk management, primarily enterprise and operational risk management and has held positions in health, safety and environmental management for BHP Billiton, strategic risk consulting for Alexander Forbes and headed ERM and ORM at IQ Business. Prior to joining Mondial Consulting, Vanessa set up a knowledge management function within IQ Business to ensure ongoing learning, innovation and improved business capability.Vanessa is also involved in many projects with the Institute of Risk Management South Africa (IRMSA). She acted as the Technical Advisor for BankSeta and IRMSA in the development of Risk Officer and Risk Practitioner qualifications and was awarded IRMSA’s Service Excellence award in 2013.
Craig Kent is the Business Unit Head: AON Risk Consulting Solutions. Kent emanated out of the Emergency Services where after some 11 years he exited the service of a large Municipal Brigade in the capacity of acting Deputy Chief Fire Officer, before joining Alexander Forbes Risk Engineering / Marsh Risk Consulting. He enjoyed some 23 years service with Alexander Forbes/ Marsh, having served in the latter years as part of the Senior management team within the Risk Consulting Business. He exited Marsh in June 2019, holding the position as the Consulting Director (Senior Vice president) – Property Risk Consulting, to join and lead the entire Aon Risk Consulting Business.
